| Total Health Oregon was born from a simple conversation between two neighbors (Dana Sahlin and Tanya McArthur) on a drive to Eugene, OR. They found they had so much in common when discussing their interests and goals for individuals.
Dana working as a Personal Trainer and Tanya working as a Dietitian decided to join forces to make this complete package of accountability with affordability in a group setting.
Dana and Tanya both believe that everyone needs balance. The equal combination of all components are: 25% cardio, 25% strength, 25% nutrition and 25% flexibility and rest and relaxation. If you take one component out you are only really serving up 75% or less! The entire package is needed to a healthier lifestyle.
Total Health is comprised of an eating plan and exercise. Participants are
offered a test for their resting metabolic rate at the beginning of the session. They also are measured, body fat tested, strength, flexibility and endurance tested. They are given exercises and caloric guidelines and are shown how to use the equipment in the gyms to be able to workout on their own. They are required to follow the guidelines suggested in the beginning of class and dramatic results have been seen not only in weight but in measurements and body fat loss. Other great results have been in lowering cholesterol levels and just feeling better about oneself!
Total Health workouts include stretching for flexibility, weight training for strength and a wide variety of cardiovascular exercise including running, kickboxing, treadmills and bicycles. Handouts on nutrition, exercise and fitness are supplied to participants for continuing education.
